Farah Ahmad

Journalist specializing in climate and environment issues at Al- Ghad Daily newspaper

She has worked in Al-Ghad Daily Newspaper from May 2004 – Until now, covering the Ministry of Environment, and climate change issues in Jordan and MENA Region for more than 16 Years. She also worked as a media consultant, campaigns and communications officer in several international organizations, including the International Climate Action Network (CANI), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and the Global Water Partnership (GWP).

During her work, She earned Multi-Arab and international Awards, for journalistic work, such as the “2023-Arab Media Excellence” award, organized by League of Arab States, and the “2022-Media Freedom” award, organized by the Center for Defending Freedom of Journalists (CDFJ), the prize for the regional competition for young journalists on issues of protecting the ozone layer, organized by the Ozone Unit for West Asia in the United Nations Environment Program.

She is a certified trainer in media issues, she used to give training in climate change journalism, environmental reporting, and different media subjects for the
people who work in the media field. Previously She worked as a correspondent for several Arabic TV channels as Kuwait TV and Oman TV. Recently She got a master’s degree from the Jordan Media Institute in the field of journalism and new media. Her first research paper on “Ethical Standards in Publishing Press Pictures on Websites” was published in Mutah Journal for Studies and Research in March 2021.
