Raghida Haddad

Editor-in-Chief of Al Hima magazine

Raghida Haddad is the Editor-in-Chief of Al Hima Magazine, published biannually by the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL). She describes the magazine as “a gift to Arab officials and environmentalists, delivering SPNL’s mission to preserve nature by establishing a Hima—meaning a protected area—in every village and town across the Arab world.”

Previously, Raghida Haddad served as Executive Editor of Al-Bia Wal-Tanmia (Environment and Development), a pan-Arab magazine. She works as a consultant, trainer, and university lecturer specializing in environmental information and science journalism, and is an editor and co-author of several environmental books, reports, and manuals.

Raghida Haddad received the Earth Journalism Award during COP15 in Copenhagen for her two-week journey to the Arctic, where she covered the international scientific climate change expedition aboard the Canadian research icebreaker Amundsen. She is also a founding member of the Lebanon Mountain Trail Association.
