Submit a Paper/Proposal

Let’s work together to advance the field of science media and communication in the MENA region!

Contribute your ideas by submitting a session or a paper proposal to the Arab Forum of Science Media and Communication (AFSMC24)!

The Arab Forum of Science Media and Communication is back in collaboration with the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates to bring you an unparalleled experience from Feb 5th to 6th, 2024. Our theme for this edition is “From Research to Engagement: Advancing Communication,” and we have lined up an exciting array of events and activities, both virtually and In-person, that address the pivotal challenges in science communication to bridge the gap between researchers, scientists, and science communicators.

What’s New This Year?

For the first time, the AFSMC is opening its doors not only to proposals from practitioners but also proposals from academia and researchers, including technical, conceptual, and theoretical papers (whether published or still in progress) that align with this year’s theme.

The Forum, in collaboration with the University of Sharjah College of Communication, will thoroughly review all submissions. Successful applicants will have a chance to present their research to a diverse audience and/or publish it in a Scopus publication (To be Announced and Finalized Later)

Participants of the AFSMC will profit from the feedback they will get from the forum. It will give them an opportunity to revise their work before submitting it for publication. However, participation in the AFSMC/in the forum and presenting the paper does not guarantee Scopus publication.

For session proposals: We review applications as they come in, and stop accepting when we’ve filled enough spots. Apply now to maximize your chances of being selected!
For research papers: The deadline for submitting research papers is January 15, 2024. Don’t miss out!

Whether it’s sessions or research papers, our content committee will provide decisions for all submissions by January 20, 2024.

Thank you for your enthusiasm to speak at AFSMC24. We look forward to reviewing your proposal and learning more about your impactful work.
