Syed Ali Hussain is an Assistant Professor of Mass Communication at the University of Sharjah, UAE. He earned his PhD in Media and Information Studies and an MA in Health and Risk Communication as a Fulbright Scholar from Michigan State University, USA. His research focuses on public health communication, with a particular emphasis on emotional appeals, social media engagement, and behaviour change strategies in low-resource settings.
His work includes leading and contributing to numerous international research projects funded by organizations such as the NIHR, ACLS, and the Luce Foundation. These projects address health education, stigma reduction, and digital interventions. His research bridges academic inquiry and real-world impact, with the goal of improving health outcomes through strategic communication.
