Having earned a Ph.D. in media and communication, Nouha Belaid embarked on her career in 2008 as a journalist and PR manager. In 2013, she transitioned to academia, serving as a university lecturer and Director of Studies at a Communication university until 2023. Her interest in science journalism started with the emergence of COVID-19, where she created online content about the virus, advocated for good health for all, and contested climate change. She also founded the Science Journalists in MENA Forum.
Nouha has offered media support to a wide range of clients, such as Africa CDC, Amref Health Africa, the FIFA World Cup 2022, WHO EMRO, and AstraZeneca Middle East and Africa. She has worked on several public health issues, with a particular focus on HPV and its impact, as well as Polio.
She also participated in COP27 in Egypt as an accredited journalist. Furthermore, she was a speaker at the International Conference of the World Federation of Science Journalism, which took place in Colombia. She is skilled in three languages: Arabic, English, and French.
